The Surrealism Website
Camille dela Rosa (1982 - )

Born in Manila in the Philippines, daughter of the painter Ibarra Y. Dela Rosa. She had no formal training in art though when a child she often attended her father's art classes. Her mother was an art history and humanities professor at the University of the Philippines, so her family obviously were a formative influence. She has had a number of solo exhibitions and contributed to many group shows in the Philippines. She has worked in a number of styles but from the mid 2000s she began to focus on surrealism. The imagery in her prolific series of paintings in 2009-2012 often appears to reference illustrations of anatomical dissections, particularly the skull.
