Svetoslav Stoyanov was born in Gabrovo in Bulgaria. He began painting from an early age through the influence of his uncle who was also an artist. Initially, he created landscapes and pictures of old Bulgarian houses. Later he was drawn to rock music and surrealism and started painting professionally in 1992 and for the next 15 years divided his time between playing keyboards in a rock band and painting. He was able to exhibit his artwork in a number of galleries in Bulgaria and many were sold and are now part of private collections in various countries. In 2007, he relocated to London.
He is clearly influenced by DalĂ and he finds fresh inspiration is this style. His small sized paintings are extremely detailed.
